Mike is a patent attorney in the Vorys Cleveland and Akron offices and a member of the intellectual property (IP) group.  Mike drafts and files patent applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and negotiates with patent Examiners to help inventors obtain patent protection. He also manages patent portfolios in the U.S. and abroad, and counsels inventors on patent portfolio strategy.

He has a background in electrical engineering and technical experience with systems testing and automation.  As a patent attorney, Mike has helped inventors enforce granted patents to remove online listings from e-commerce platforms, as well as seek damages and to prevent competitors from selling infringing products.  Mike has also helped companies accused of infringement to invalidate patents held by plaintiffs in proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and Federal Courts.  Mike handles different types of inventions ranging from Cannabis to Quantum Computing, as well as different types of patents such as Utility and Design patents.
