Dustin Steerman's BIO
My journey into cannabis began in 2011 after visiting a hole in the wall deli style dispensary in Aspen, CO. After that visit and Colorado approving Amendment 64 I decided I was going to claw my way into the cannabis industry. In 2015 I met with several ancillary and plant touching startups. My interest was to make an active investment where I would take part in the business. None came to fruition. But MJBiz 2015 led me to a realization and a bigger opportunity. I saw zero customization and nothing but overseas stock packaging sold through distributors. I'd like to say it's crazy to think that so much of the industry is still operating the same way but growing up around print and packaging it isn't surprising. In 2016 I landed my first customer and first order. Custom printed flexible packaging for Green Dot Labs in Boulder, CO. My supplier didn’t come through so I had to use a recent startup that was printing pouches digitally That startup was ePac Flexibles. What followed next far surpassed my imagination. My friend who introduced me to ePac became my business partner and we proceeded to put together an investment vehicle. We became ePac’s first co-investor and affiliate operators, launching the company’s first facility past proof of concept in Boulder, CO. By the end of 2017 we built our local facility and began developing our child resistant product offering. From 2018-2021 we scaled our CR offering across the United States and Canada. We developed Conventional, Post-Consumer Recycled and Industrial Compostable CR Resealable Pouches. We were working with startups and small brands all the way up to the largest MSOs. At the end of 2021 I stepped away from the to take some time to recharge. While working alongside the industry I noticed many issues that still exist today. Which has lead me to making another go at in the cannabis industry. This time from a new angle. This business solely focuses on serving Cannabis. We are in the trenches with the community we serve. We focus on driving innovation based on market demand. We help clients deliver on their missions and purposes. And we contribute towards righting the wrongs. Not losing site of the fact that many people are still behind bars while companies profit off of the industry they built. The mission is simple: Elevate & Accelerate craft cannabis to compete for middle market demand and utilize business as a force for good. We play a game that will not end until there aren’t people wronged for being on the right side of history.
