The Redemption Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to repair the harm caused by cannabis prohibition. It provides financial, legal and emotional support to people incarcerated on cannabis charges, runs a free expungement program for qualifying applicants, and supports reentry and job placement in the legal cannabis industry.
Founded in 2020 by Ryan Basore after he served a four-year federal sentence tied to his state-legal Michigan cannabis operation, the Foundation is governed by a board drawn from across the industry and now includes leadership based in Ohio.
