Rory McClain is the Executive Director of Wholesale and Retail Purchasing at Trulieve, a position he has held since 2023. In this role, Rory oversees all aspects of wholesale and retail purchasing, ensuring the highest standards in product selection and vendor relationships to support Trulieve’s expansive network of dispensaries.
With nine years of experience in the cannabis industry, Rory has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision. Before joining Trulieve, he served as the National Director of Sales at Standard Wellness. In this role, Rory successfully expanded the company’s market presence, driving significant sales growth and establishing strong brand recognition across multiple states.
Rory’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Head Case Apothecary, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, he was instrumental in developing the company’s operational framework and product offerings, contributing to its reputation as a leading provider of high-quality cannabis products.
Rory holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, which has provided a solid foundation for his expertise in sales, brand building, and retail management. His professional interests include plant medicine advocacy, psychedelics research advocacy, sales team building, creating leaders and effective sales winners, and brand development.
Beyond his professional achievements, Rory is dedicated to community service. He actively volunteers and collaborates with nonprofits that support the addiction community, reflecting his commitment to making a positive impact both within and outside the cannabis industry.
Rory resides in Sandusky, OH with his wife, Taylor, and their children, Franky and Gerard. His dedication to advancing the cannabis industry and his passion for helping others continue to drive his professional and personal endeavors.
