Matherly, born in Parkersburg, WV, started his love for agriculture at an early age.  Helping his grandparents in their tobacco and vegetable gardens taught him the finer methods in growing strong and healthy crops in order to maximize potential yield.

Fast forward a few decades, and many more years refining his craft, Matherly broke into the Ohio Medical Marijuana industry for Level II Cultivator, Agri-med.  Back 2018, Justin was responsible for introducing 20 new strains into an emerging market, going up against some of Ohio’s best Level I Head Growers.

Justin made a name for himself in just 2 years and was made Director of Cultivation for Certified Cultivators in 2020.  With the long list of strains Certified had out in the Ohio market, Matherly brought roughly 20 of his own strain to the table.  Such strains as South Side Legend (S), Arnie Plamer (H), Gasolina (S), and Fuego to name a few.

As Justin was making a name for himself, the owners of King City Gradens, Level I Cultivator in Cincinnati, OH knew right away that he was the one to lead their organization into the next phase of cannabis cultivation.  In just 8 short months, with Justin’s guidance, KCG has built and reputable cultivation facility and had introduced 25 strains with many, many more on the horizon.
